This category covers pumps for three jobs: filling hydraulic systems, transferring lubricating oil from drums and changing oil. Hand-operated drum pumps, rotary hand pumps, oil cans and siphon pumps are available both for 180 kg drums and for 20–30 litre containers. An extractor pump lets you change the oil through the dipstick tube when the drain plug cannot be reached, and for filling hydraulics in the field there are hand-operated and pneumatic oil filling units.
In an air-operated pump, the ratio indicates the pressure: the thicker the oil and the longer the hose, the higher the ratio, and a ratio of at least 3:1 is recommended with a hose reel. The pump is mounted on the drum with a drum adapter or on a wall bracket. Electric pumps are available at 12 V, 24 V and 230 V, and their selection is limited by the oil viscosity, so check the maximum permitted viscosity in the pump data. Wall brackets, suction tubes and spare parts are in the same category.
For grease, choose a grease pump, and for refuelling diesel, a fuel pump.
