Grease pumps

A grease pump transfers grease from a container to the lubrication point, a hose reel or the reservoir of a central lubrication system. Thick grease does not flow by itself, so in an air-operated pump the pressure ratio is decisive: a 50:1 pump delivers 300 bar grease pressure at 6 bar air pressure, and a 65:1 pump 390 bar. A higher pressure ratio is for stiffer greases, transfer piping and hose reels, and for long transfer distances there are higher-output ATEX II 3 GD rated pumps.

The air-operated pump is mounted on the lid of the grease container, and a 180 kg container requires a container cover and a follower plate. For EP2 and EP3 greases that do not move with the help of a follower plate, there is a drum pump with a lift. A foot-operated grease pump with an 8 kg reservoir and a pressure of up to 690 bar, for example, leaves your hands free at the lubrication point.

Central lubrication filling pumps are not suitable for greasing grease nipples; for nipples there is a separate hand-operated grease pump.
