Semi-rotary drive Festo DFPD

The Festo DFPD series pneumatic quarter-turn actuators are suitable for the automation of butterfly and ball valves as well as air dampers. The rack-and-pinion design provides a constant torque characteristic across the entire 90° swivel range, and the modular construction allows different spring configurations for various applications.

• Mode of operation: available as double-acting (RD) and single-acting spring-return (RS) – in the spring-return version the spring drives the actuator to its safety position when air pressure is lost
• Swivel angle: 90°
• Design: rack and pinion, constant torque across the full range
• Operating pressure: 2–8 bar (nominal 6 bar)
• Ambient temperature: –20…+80 °C
• Functional safety: SIL 2 (Low Demand), up to SIL 3 in a redundant architecture

Connections

• Valve connection: NAMUR VDI/VDE 3845 – for mounting solenoid valves, position sensors and positioners
• Process valve connection: ISO 5211 flange (F03–F10) and shaft connection (T9–T22)
• Pneumatic connection: G 1/8" or G 1/4" depending on size
