Pneumatic actuator OMAL AGO DAN

OMAL AGO DAN series double-acting pneumatic actuators are suitable for automating ball valves, butterfly valves and dampers. The scotch yoke mechanism converts the linear piston movement into rotation without gear teeth, giving maximum torque at the start and end of travel — exactly where a valve needs the most force.

Reading the torque values

The torque values in the variation table are given at 6 bar supply pressure at the start of travel (0°), which is the breakaway torque that sizes the valve.

Note that the number in the code refers to the torque at 5.6 bar — for example the DAN480 delivers 480 Nm at 5.6 bar and 514 Nm at 6 bar. This is not a contradiction but two different reference pressures.

With a double-acting actuator the torque is not constant across travel: it is highest at the start, about half at 50°, and rises again towards the end. For example the DAN480 delivers 514 / 257 / 386 Nm at 0° / 50° / 90° at 6 bar. This is worth noting on butterfly valves, where the greatest resistance often occurs mid-travel. Full torque curves for all pressures from 3 to 8 bar are given in the catalogue.

• Valve connection: ISO 5211 flange F03–F12, compliant with EN 15714-3
• NAMUR: on sizes above DAN15 the NAMUR solenoid valve interface is integrated into the body — no separate adapter plate needed
• Pneumatic connection: G1/8" or G1/4" depending on size
