A solenoid valve opens or closes a water, compressed air, steam or chemical line on an electrical signal, for example in filling, washing or cooling control. This category includes 2/2 solenoid valves with brass, AISI304 and AISI316 bodies, as well as connectors and cable sets for connecting them.
The most important selection question is whether there is always a pressure differential in the line. A direct-acting valve works without a pressure differential and is suitable for small flows. A servo-assisted diaphragm valve is suitable for larger sizes, but only opens when the pressure differential exceeds the minimum. The medium determines the body and the seal: NBR, EPDM or FKM. For steam there is a model with PTFE seals, and for high-pressure water, for example, a stainless steel solenoid valve for pressures of 140–210 bar. For most series the coil is ordered separately, so the voltage is chosen according to the control system, and connectors are available for DIN 43650 and ISO 4400 connections.
For dirty or thick media and large flows, choose a ball valve with an actuator. Solenoid valves for hydraulic systems are under hydraulic components.
