Solenoid valve Festo VUVS-LK, bistable

A bistable valve changes position with a short electrical pulse and holds its position even after the voltage is removed. Solenoids are fitted at both ends of the body: one switches to the position, the other switches back. This differs from a monostable model, which returns to its initial position by spring as soon as the voltage is removed.

When to choose bistable

• The cylinder position must not change during a power failure
• Control by pulse instead of continuous voltage — saves energy
• Two separate control signals (e.g. up/down from different outputs)

Safety note: a bistable valve does not return the cylinder to a safe position when the voltage is removed. If the application requires a return, select a monostable model.

VUVS-LK series

The ports are integrated in the valve body — no separate sub-base is required. In the type code B52 denotes a bistable 5/2 valve and +GL means the connector is included.
