Solenoid valve Festo MFH / JMFH

Tiger Classic is Festo's long-standing poppet valve series for controlling pneumatic cylinders and actuators. The poppet seat design tolerates contaminated air and long standstills better than a spool valve, which is why the series has remained in the range for decades.

Models

• MFH-3 — 3/2 valve, normally closed, mechanical spring return. Control of a single-acting cylinder or air supply.
• MFH-5 — 5/2 valve, monostable. Control of a double-acting cylinder.
• JMFH-5 — 5/2 valve, bistable: holds its position after the voltage is removed.

By turning the seal under the cover, the MFH-3 model can be converted to a normally open version (MOFH-3).

Coil ordered separately

The valves are supplied without a solenoid coil. An F series coil is required, selected by voltage: 12–230 V DC or 12–240 V AC (50–60 Hz). Power consumption 4.1–5.5 W (DC) or 3.85–9 VA (AC). The coil can also be replaced later.

• UL Recognized (Oil), RoHS compliant

The series also includes S versions with external pilot air, which operate over a wider pressure range of −0.95…10 bar, i.e. also under vacuum. These are not part of this range — please ask separately if required.

Mounting and ATEX

The valves can be mounted individually with a through-hole or assembled into a manifold on a PAL rail or PRS block (2–6 valve positions) with a shared supply. ATEX approved versions are also available (II 2GD, designation EX) for potentially explosive atmospheres — however, ATEX versions must not be mounted on PAL rails or PRS blocks. The models in this range are without ATEX classification.
