The Danfoss AVTA is a self-operating, thermostatic water valve used primarily for proportional control of cooling water flow. It requires no external electricity or compressed air to operate. The valve operates based on a temperature-sensitive charge in the sensor element, which expands and contracts according to temperature changes.
Cooling application (AVTA): As the sensor temperature rises, internal pressure increases, opening the valve to allow more cooling water through the system. As the temperature drops, pressure decreases and the valve partially or fully closes.
Heating application (e.g. AVT): The operation is reversed – as the temperature rises, the valve closes to reduce the flow of heating fluid.
